Hey troll, what does Cabada's debut have to do with Vigil?

If you meant biggest dork then I second the Vigilante Post. Otherwise he has been coaching 7 years and has not had near the success of another coach in his era. So no Vigilante is not the best and yes he is a huge nerd.
Simmons, look what he does with his pro runners and college runners. If I was fast I would move to bristol. I don't care that he isn't d1. He makes people faster and that is what matters.
Steve Pasche, Luther College, Iowa (DIII). Second year at the helm first conference title in 11 years, first National apperance in 17, runner-up at Regions and 6th at NCAAs. Pretty great job considering the year before he took over Luhter was 13th in their Region.
Whoever coached Amy Lia to the 1500 title at NCAA's.
That is odd that Vigil has never had a runner as fast as Cabada in the marathon. I guess he is far more known for his success at Adams State than what he hasn't accomplished in the marathon. The odd part is that his name always comes up when talking about marathon coaches. He appears to have gotten a lot of mileage out of one athlete (Deena) in the marathon. Before it comes off as bad mouthing Coach Vigil, I should mention that I think he is the greatest cross-country coach ever.
I believe Robert Gray will coach 3 distance athletes to the USA Olympic team in 2008. Can't see anyone else coaching 3.
Derrick Hood at Abilene Christian.
2nd year = CC National Champions.
1st ACU coach to win a CC title.

I believe that you're wrong.
Vigil concentrated on coaching 10,000 runners on down to the mile, that was his emphasis. Don't forget ASC alum Peter DeLaCerda was 2nd in the 2000 US Olympic Trials on a 90-degree day (very humid too--nasty heat) in Pittsburgh, PA in 2:14.
Is that what grandpa told you? Check your numbers again I believe that he ran over 2:16. His lifetime best was 2:14 and change on a perfect day in Chicago. He was 2nd in the trials on the day that everyone points to as the all time low in american marathoning. That was the performance day that sparked all of the current training groups because it was obvious that something had to be done.
Yes Vig is great even though he is a true gay man;
Joe Vigil is an embarassing soul at this point in his career. I once thought that he was the greatest coach ever. Now he walks around the USATF Convention trying to garner votes to be an Olympic Coach. No longer does he have any dignity. With all of the success that he has had in his career, it is sad.
Way to work that in. Even though Scott never did wrestle Sam Fairleigh...
Dave Hartman at Georgia
Shaun Meinecke...2 time coach of the year in the SOCON, 1st year at miami of ohio...not to bad as a sprints/jumps coach.
Hartman is an a#$Clown who could not coach his way out of a paper bag. What has he done at Georgia?
The 1988 USATF men's 10,000-meter list showed Vigil's dominance as a coach (all guys in top ten).
1. Pat Porter 27:46
2. Rick Robirds 28:22
Sam Montoya 28:34
Dave Cuadrado 28:35
All coached by Vigil, all ran for Adams State.
Clearly, Joe Newton.
On a tough course...
