Crazy you can come in 12th with a 3:33.28
16 Silva Rui POR 3:44.61
Look who he beat today
Everyone knows Rui Silva doesn't "turn it on" until there's a medal on the line.
It seems as if the guy has no care whatsoever for invitationals meetings and years like this one with no championship on the line. But what can you say? He's a racer; a gamer; and absolute money in a sit&kick race.

I said, It is now Lagat and Lukazic, until Webb gets himself ready to roll again.
Where do I say Webb hasn't accomplished anything in his career and is done for the season?
Reading comprehension my friend, check into it.
please stop butchering his name
no
Note that in Webb's fast European races he usually have been further up than 12th. In fact he has won one of these GL-level races (an even better accomplishment than Ritz's XC win).

Yeah, but is it better than Salazar's 27:25 second place? Or Virgin's marathon in 2:10 at Boston?
WTF does Ritz have to do with this situation?
Good for Lukezic! He is near the (PR-)level of some of the all-time non-African Greats like Walker, Scott and Peter Elliott. That is just amazing!
who is Alan Webb?
the guy has run 3:30-3:31 many times in GP races. I think he is coming back from injury this season because his lastfew races at small meets haven't been so hot as well. Maybe pulling a Webb...
Where does this rank on the All Time US List? TFNews hasn't updated their list in almost 3 years.........

Elliott had a 1:42.97 800m PR along with his 3:32.69 1500m PR, which wasn't regarded as unusual. It is "amazing" what 1:48 800m runners are doing these days. The relevant modifier isn't "non-African"; it's "pre-1994" (or thereabouts).

What has happened is that the drugs they were using in the 800 are now easy to catch and banned, and the improvements in drugs these days have most benefited sprinters and long distance runners whereas the 800 runners have to use drugs that don't benefit them "as much" as the old ones did, unlike the other events which have better and improved drugs now.
Re all-time list. Where is the best most up to date US list? I can't find.
kind of harsh words for Mr. Kline, don't you think? He seems to be a pretty cool guy. A lot of grease in his hair, but still cool nonetheless. And Reebok seems to think highly of him since they doubled his 6 figure salary to come out to the east coast.
Klein has been around for a long time. He is inept and has no comprehension of talent. Capriotti at Nike is light years ahead of this jerk. Even Bill at Adidas has has done more in a couple of years. When Klein was at adidas the only major talents he pulled were Allyson Felix, Torrie Edwards and a past-his-prime Maurice Green.
I stand by my analysis of Kline. I have hobnobbed with most of the big wigs in Elite Track and Field. Compared to Wetmore (the agent), Flynn, Capriotti/J. Rowe and almost everyone else I have ever met, he is as engaging as an egg larvae. He is one of those guys who everybody hears "good" things about and then is disappointed when they meet him. Seriously, ask around.
I am glad that Reebok thinks he will save them but he won't. I am glad that Lukezic runs for Reebok but I know that Mr. Joyce has more to do with signing promising NCAA talent than anyone else at Reebok. He is the guy whose salary should be doubled based on what I have seen.

Let us guess, you don't get much attention at home and need to make such posts for attention? Because you are actually an ignoramus
Is that the same Patrick Joyce who ran at NC State in the 90s?
lukezic is going to surpass webb soon. he's a champion. and it's lukEzic.
Pat Joyce is a nice enough person, but he is actually the asssitant equipment person under the Jennifer Tomas (Kline's assistant). I doubt he is making many, if any, real decisions.
