So the fomeru coach we are weirdly not mentioning on this thread left the Oles without any recruits that will help them maintains the success his predecessor set up?

I did mention some recruits for the Oles, but Carleton and St. Olaf famously don't post classes even though their women do so. I'd suspect the Oles brought in some out of state athletes that are not on the Ice Cold XC page. And I'd bet the class is not quite as good as previous classes since the coach left mid process, but that many likely chose St. Olaf due to tradition and not the coach. I have heard, but cannot confirm the class is mostly 800 types because that is the new coach's preferred event to recruit and coach.
Highlights from known incoming MIAC athletes at State -
St. Scholastica -
Adrian Rausch - 10th and 12 in the AA 1600/3200 4:21/9:35
Andrew Berndt - 4th AA 800m and 4th in the 4 x 800 w/ a 1:55 split.
Austin Matrious - 12 in the AAA 3200 in 9:36.84. 7th place 4 x 800.
Cadyn Vanderwal - 8th in the A 1600 in 4:20.54
Bethel -
Andrew Tscholl - 14th in the AA 1600 in a season-best 4:30.
Concordia Moorhead -
Grant Nelson - 1:56 800 to take 3rd in the A 800m.
Henry Lockwood - 17th in the A 3200 - 10:39 and 5th in the 4 x 800.
St. Olaf -
Lev Dougherty - 5th in AA 800 and 9th in the 1600.
Owen Riter - 2nd place 4 x 800 AAA. 1:54.01 split.
St. John's -
Liam Frank - 2:01 leg on the 11th place AAA 4 x 800

While many of the Bethel faithful are hoping Sulungaine's younger brother graduates high school early and and counting down the days until Hootie protege Isaiah Rock leaves the ritzy shores of Prior Lake, the Royals return a solid core of juniors fresh off a strong Spring on the track.
Hootie made the big jump we have been expecting this Spring and solidified himself as a MIAC contender and likely national qualifier. He is the second returning MIAC competitor and narrowly missed qualifying for nationals in XC. He ran PR's of 3:53/15:02 Outdoor and 8:45 Indoor. While the rising junior class is stacked with talent, it may be senior Weston Catton who is the linchpin to the Bethel success. Weston ran 15:40 this Spring a monumental improvement from the last year. If he follows a similar trajectory, the Royal faithful will have something to cheer about.
Even though much of the Bethel track success seems concentrated in middle distances, TJ Strubbe's 15:52 is encouraging after his MIAC XC result was not on par with times at other races last Fall. The other Bethel returners offer as many questions as answers. Thomas Avra was Bethel's second runner last Fall, but had no track results. If he's healthy, that provides a strong training partner for Catton. Rising sophomore Charlie Gundale also dealt with injuries after running in the top 7 last Fall. Can Michael Schultz follow up his spectacular Spring with XC success? Can Gavin Hansen make the next jump? Will Lelinga return to his 26:38 form and provide a dangerous 1-2 combo with Hootie?
From a recruiting standpoint, expect Andrew Tscholl (4:28/9:59) to add scoring depth and Mason Hays (16:39 5K) to continue to progress in their successful middle distance group. Bethel will likely bring in 5-7 more to join them, so stay tuned to see if we see more studs like Tscholl or more projects that Coach Rengo will greatly improve over their four years in Arden Hills.
Doesn't strava king Evan Dallas still have one more year for them? I heard he's coming back for cross only. Considering what he normally puts up for volume and the general strength he has, I wouldn't be surprised if he wills himself to a top 25 spot this year. The trio of Avra, Catton, + Dallas would be demon mode for the blue and yellow.

He is most certainly graduated. And besides, he was never that good anyway.
On an unrelated note, St. Olaf's donors seem to be indicating to the AD that funding will be pulled following this year if a men's/women's XC sweep is not accomplished.
Very curious what sort of donors cross country teams have? Our donors only care about football.
The Ole women have their work cut out for them, graduating Walda, Wyatt, Landis, McCloskey, and Moeller. So most of their top 5. They do return the Erickson sister, Lindquist who had a good Spring, Peikert who didn't appear to race much, and Lamarre who all traded top seven spots.
Carleton obviously loses Preisser, Vukovics, and Larsen but their freshman class is amazing. It seems unlikely any will beat them, but I'd favor Mac who only graduated one senior in their top ten and return two national qualifiers to be second. Despite graduating Liston, I expect Gustavus to be greatly improved. The Cobbers will be the team that could spoil it all. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Oles get second, it also wouldn't be surprising to see them get fifth.
It is confirmed Vukovics has left Carleton? If true, that is a substantial loss. Where is she going?
They have a very talented sophomore group, but those are some big names to lose. I know Carleton has a 18:31 XC 5k/10:15 3Ker coming from Portland, an area they have historically recruited well. They typically announce their recruits in late June.
