There has already been a thread on this subject. But for some guys, there is never enough talk about hitting a woman.
True. In that thread I recounted a different incident of me striking a woman. It was actually at the same bar! I hope we don't have too many more of these threads as I'll have to dig deeper into my foggy recollections.
So, if a very large woman punched you in the face and then wound up for a second shot, you would decline to exercise your legal right to protect yourself?
Are we sure that reflects on me?
it seems like you were either just wildly imprecise in your first statement or are moving the goalpost or backpedaling.
You referred only to “a stranger” and “might” before, with no qualifiers like “very large” or “winding up.”
When I said it “depends” on the significance of the threat, I can imagine scenarios similar to what you’re describing that involve a significant threat, one that would require force to counteract.
And based on your earlier statement, I can also imagine a situation where a guy got punched by somebody who didn’t actually pose a real threat, still punched back to make himself feel better, and told himself afterwards that he was only defending himself.

I won’t claim any special knowledge or ability in these areas, but from having talked to strong, experienced security personnel, I know that they are accustomed to dealing with the assailants or other sorts of troublemakers — man or woman— in a way based on using the minimum amount of force necessary. For those. not particularly strong and well trained, you may not be able to read the situation as well and have a thin margin of error, but it still seems like a good principle to follow.
(and yes, I know that various security personnel and police officers, etc. violate this standard. They are not the model to follow.)
There is a history in many cultures of male against female violence, and often with fatal results. Women's refuges are a stain on how many men abuse women. Yet we have threads like this that are blithely unaware of the pervasiveness of that abuse and even invite fantasizing about it.

Believe me, I am not backpedaling on a position that is simultaneously ethical, legal, and righteous.
If I am attacked by a stranger, in public with witnesses, and it is in my interest to protect myself, I could certainly exercise my right to self defense.
Does her size come into play? Sure. So does her aggressiveness, viciousness, intent to injure, and so on. But that would also be true if it was a man. What is happening in the moment would matter.
If, as another poster suggested, it was the equivalent of a ten-year-old, then no, I'm sure I would not hit that person.
We could reduce it to this question: Is there ANY circumstance in which you would exercise your legal and ethical right to defend yourself?
For me, yes there are situations in which I would. I find it fascinating if anyone else would claim that they would not. Frankly, I don't believe them. If someone is going to thrash all of the teeth out of your head, you should defend yourself.
Just saw a video on You Tube of a woman who, unprovoked, hit a man who later hit her back. Is this okay? Did he have the right to retaliate?
Yes, depending on the way she hit him first. If she just hit him in the arm, he shouldn’t hit her at all. However, if she hit him in the face, she should expect to be hit in return.
I think most developed communities are operating under the assumption that you probably shouldn't hit someone unless they're a serious threat to your own safety, ethically and legally speaking, and that the level of justification is proportional to said threat.
There's going to be some level of generalisation when we're talking about different demographics, of course, but I think most would agree a 100lb girl slapping a male powerlifter is a somewhat different scenario to one where you're genuinely concerned for your own health. Arguing about 'who started it' is some kindergarten-level bs.
There was a well-reported incident almost ten years ago which occurred on a train in New York City. A group of random women started making fun of a man for wearing an 8-ball jacket and one of them punched him and he slapped her in response, setting off a brawl on the train. He was cleared of all wrongdoing, although he had to stop wearing his 8-ball jacket on the train because of the notoriety.
First, he was cleared by the DA — and now he wants to be cleared by the fashion police. The man who was attacked on an F train by women who mocked his 1980s-style 8-ball jacket will not be charged …
None of you are as strong as a typical woman off the streets. these women would literally drop you to the ground. Y'all have zero upper body strength and weigh like 120 pounds. You'd get demolished if you fought back.

Settle down goober. You should get back to your porn and donuts.
I was punched by a woman once. My college XC team has grabbed one of the ladies team members who had come to prank the guys whose house we were at and locked her in a closet for an hour or so. I was a freshman walk on so I was just there taking it all in. Someone eventually let he out and she was... displeased... and I was the first guy there she encountered upon coming out of the closet. I remember her winding up and then just taking the punch as she followed through. I was pretty shocked. And no, I didn't retaliate, I just stood there in awkward silence as she and I stared at each other.
She almost immediately apologized. I said it was okay.
I'd say it's situational. If a woman means to do me serious harm, I will defend myself. If she's just upset and that's how it manifested and it's kind of harmless like the punch I took, then it's okay.
Men are just way more physically powerful than women on average which is why there's a double standard.
Do we know it's a woman? Or does she identify as something else? Maybe the man identifies as a woman. Then it's a woman hitting a woman back. Crazy world we live in

And yet you are happy to come on here daily, and accuse a young woman, Parker Valby, of doping. You are a hypocrite.
