UW is Washington not Wisco, but the same reason applies, UW (both of them) have a DMR in the meet, without prelims!

oops! DMR was meant to be in response to Abbott.

Anybody know why Austin Abbott (sp?) of UW isn't on the mile list? He ran 3:59.xx on the UW track, the same track that McGrath ran his time I think. Thanks.
The 3k will be slow and a sit and kick race around 7:55 because all the studs are doubling back from another race or two! The 5k (Friday Night) will be the barn burner and just down the street from Barnhill!
Looking at the full list, my first thoughts are:
1) How the heck does Oral Roberts have a guy in 400, 2 in the 800, and one in the mile?
2) I never realized the Auto Times were so tough. In each event, only a handful make it by auto times. Sometimes only 1-3.
3) Only 1 Ivy Leaguer?
Not all...Cheseret will be fresh.
Not quite! wrote:

Guess UNC's Felnagle needed to skip the beer and chase a last meet.......no mile for her. Better luck next year Brie!
and why the hell didnt they put together a dmr team...
dear haha losers,
the ivy league sucks.
love, the rest of the NCAA
Becca Noble will be the only true freshman to win a title. She has never lost a major 800 race, and will not begin here.
Interview with Austin Abbot where he says that he is not running the mile.

Man, where's their DMR team? That'd be a pretty competitive foursome, providing that one of the 800 guys can eke out a 1200.

I think this goes without saying but anyone who tries to push the pace before the final lap in that 3k will have to have giant balls of steel. Who's gonna be the hero?
need you ask.
If not him Cheseret coz he is fresh or Kiplagat coz he can run the fastest

Thanks mile field, I appreciate it!
Pardon my ignorance, but how can Christian Smith not have an entry in the 800? Did he just not get into a good 800 this year, opting to run the 1000 instead? Doesn't make much sense to me. That being said, it will be exciting to see if he can sneak into the top 5 in the mile... he certainly has the speed to do it if it comes down to a last lap kick.

While the 3k field is very good, it's almost identical to what it looked like last year. I think Hall was the last to get in at 7:56.xx. So, no improvement from last year to this year, but still a superb field. Also, any thoughts on galen doubling while not being ranked in the top 8 in either event? Will he pull of something huge or will he blow up? I thought Salazar didn't want to overrace him in the collegiate system.
A few comments:
-Is anyone else surprised to see Forrest Braden on this list? I could've sworn he was out of eligibility.
-You guys are talking about the men's 3k, which doubtless is stacked, but the women's 3k might be the best distance field of the meet.
-I'd like to second the comment of whoever said the auto standards are brutal; only one auto in the DMR? Damn.

it's my 5th year (i'm out of eligibility, stupid f***ing compliance people) and he's a year younger than i am. this is his fourth year in the NCAA and at boise state.
Scott Overall is gonna bust up the 3k field breds. Sit and kick and then merc all dem boys with a 52 last 400m. Then he'll be straight on the lash chasing some proper neat gash. Rep the LON to the fullest Scott. Get me blood!
