Didn't Rupp just run a 4:12? SHUT THE HELL UP.
Rupp takes in the butt every night, he gets punished hardcore... he owns the KY factory
I think racing the 3k was a stupid decision, racing the mile is already more than enough stress for the body and a 8:20 3k is not close to a PR or the Qualif.Standard.
Better shake-out and recover.
He needed an IC4A time in the 3k.
The key words in your statement..."about 2 years ago." You are only as good as your last race boys, and that means Rupps is a 4:11 guy. Eat it and get used to it.

That does not make a lot of sense. By this standard, Withrow is a 14:36 guy and last winter Bekele was only a 7:45i guy. Sure you would bet you lunch money based on these assumptions? If not, then do not make the statement.
He may not but I'll bet my lunch money that Josh's career is 5 years longer than Rupp's. I think Rupp is washed up and a has been.
Rupp's career could end tomorrow and I'd respect what he's done. Not the accomplishments so much as his approach. Letsrun always wants the U.S. runners to have the same effort and dedication as the Africans. Rupp sure seemed to do everything he knew how, and we should recognize that. If his career ended tomorrow, he'll at least know he went down for all the right reasons. To me he was overrated, but he deserves major props.
Yeah he ran the mile in 4:01, I was there and witnessed it, he ran almost complete even splits, with the exception of his first 200 in 28 seconds and his last 200 in 32, all the way he was hitting 30.something 200s while LAPPING MANY runners ON AND OFF THE CURVE to try to break 4. He didnt slow down it smeed to the last 100 meters where he finally looked tired. He was pretty even splits though 59, 1:59, 3:00 when the announcer called everybody to give him a hand to bring him in under 4, but it was the usually track meet where sadly 3/4 of the people there didnt even appreciate what was going on. La Shawn Merrits 6 second race got a lot more attention. Only note I took about his 3000 was that in that event he hit his first mile in 4:17. The fastest indoor mile and 3000 I have seen in person, cheered me up some for dropping out of the 5k b/c I feared I could not break 16 for there was no one to run with except my teamate and my cursed tendonitis made me a puss boy for the day
There was also a woman there who broke the national masters mile by running 4:50 I think she broke it by 3 seconds and then she was leading the 1000 race for two laps and then dropped out.
You should learn how to read first then run mouth second. He ran 4:01 which has been converted to 4:00(flat track) by the ncaa ranking people. He ran the time at the Tolsma Center for distance bloggers who cannot read results and want to learn to read results better and maybe run better too!
I was there and the mile was hot. The crowd was cranked and clapping him in the whole way. That crowd will get bigger as he gets bigger. No way was merritts race a bigger draw even though Merritt is more acomplished so far.
