Allen - Best of success to you in the half tomorrow. Is your son running that too or just the marathon?

Thanks, OR! I tried to get my son to run the HM, but no go. Marathon only. Three weeks from Sunday.
Tomorrow is an 8 a.m.. start, 90-minute drive. So no Friday night beer or late-night streaming. Ah, the sacrifices we make for our sport!
A few concerning aches and pains (besides the knees). But ain't that always the case?!
Forecast is 42°, chance of rain, 17 mph winds. Flat out-and-back course.

Is M50-54 age group coming up? Is that a thing where you are?
Hope you have a good race today Allen. I am moving up to the new age group, but in Korea they do things a little different. Here everyone is 1 year old at birth and everyone turns the next age on New Years Day. That means I have been in the 50 and over age group since last year.
Usually 10km races will be open or have two age groups: 장년부(Jang Nyon Boo- Old guys) and 청년부(Cheong Nyun Boo- Young guys). Most of the time the cutoff is 40 or 45 years old. Some half marathons will do a ten year age group for 40s, 50s, and 60s.
장년부 That's me, I'd guess. Age 64 in Korea, only 62 here. Ha! M60-64 either way, and looking to age-group place in the morning. Tomorrow morning here, later today in Korea.

K Dot: Looks like continued improvement. What was your weight when you started up again? Hey, thanks for the encouragement; I'm looking forward to this Saturday's HM!
Looking forward to hearing how this goes!
And yes--I'd love to hear peoples' input on this: when I started running again back in June of 2021, I weighed 217 pounds. Over about 5 months, I got down to the 194-196 range and have stayed there since. I definitely look much thinner than I did at the beginning of the year (and I've definitely gotten much fitter).
I definitely feel like I should be losing more weight, but I also feel like if I ate less than I do I would be under-eating. I eat (I think) pretty healthily--toast with peanut butter and a banana in the morning, a sandwich for lunch, and usually some sort of protein (chicken or turkey usually), a salad, and some sort of starch for dinner. Any insight?
hhw - Nice 100-mile week!
Allen - I hope the half went well. I'm looking forward to your report. I don't have any time goals for my miles, they are just tune-ups. It would be nice to set a road PR (<4:56). And thanks for letting me know about the McMullen Mile! I might end up racing that, too.
CarlyRae - Nice racing!
RunnerSam - Sounds like you had a great closing quarter in the 5k! Thanks for the advice about the club races. I will be doing most of them as workouts or easy runs, but sometimes it is tempting to go harder than I should. Gotta stay recovered enough to do my mid-d training!
