This is an interesting dillema and one which I believe transcends this board. If you spend hours upon hours a day watching televsion (as I would bet you do), do these "characters" remain single-faceted enigmas...or do they become more? Was Will Smith not enough of our childhood for me to refer to him as "William" or "Bill"? Bill Smith. That is, in fact, what I call him on a regular basis. The irony here, is that for most of the chumps on his board, elite runners like, "Alan Webb" and "Dathan Ritzenhein" and even the likes of "Dan Wilson" or a "Lindsey Gallo" are, too, fictional in that same sense. Would it be a crime for a 4:40 miler from upstate NY to call him "Danny Wilson" or "Al Webb" or are they real people too?

yes the difference is fundamental. Stoves often sit in a wall, while ovens sit on a counter top. There are some instances where an oven and a stove is combined into one unit...a hybrid, if you will...but hte difference is fundament as an oven cooks with convectional heat. a stove (often called a stovetop, in full) can even be brought on a camping trip.

The real question which of the following famous list of Jesse's has Webb been seen fraternizing with? Jesse James, Jesse Consapoulis, Jesse Spano, Jesse the body Ventura, Jesse Jackson or that girls boyfriend Jesse, from that super sweet Rick Springfield song.

And to play devil's advocate here, couldn't Wilson have been his first name? I mean, the Kenyan equivalent of "Joe Smith" is "Wilson Komen", so maybe Toolman's neighbor was Kenyan born and bore the first name Wilson.
