Rojo - Do you support transgender athletes competing as long as they receive hormonal treatment? Or are you fully against?

I’m going to take some hormone depressants and kill in the master 75+ age group.

More seriously this question isn’t hard, there should be two classes: female and open.

Only biological, strictly defined females can compete in the female class.

Everyone else can compete in the open class. If you are a ftm or mtf individual hormones are allowed with as long as they have a qualified medical report supporting it (there is a name for those, but I can’t remember what). At local level road races if someone lacks the proper medical exemption report, it can be treated like all other such instances at a local road race (ie rarely).

What about mtf or people raised female who end up being inter-sexed, they can compete in the open class. Everyone should be entitled to participate in sport, however the right to participate isn’t the same as the right to win.

I don't care about sports that I have zero interest in, so I'm not to comment on those such as weightlifting, roller derby, MMA (never going to happen at the upper levels of the sport anyway), or Canadian masters cycling. For other track events, a couple of sprinters in a relatively non-competitive state that wouldn't have been eligible for scholarships and a D-2 hurdler does not bother me. Semenya and other intersex athletes, or those using PEDS, are not a topics applicable to this thread.

I don't believe becoming transgender has become become some type of fad. I have children in public schools and absolutely no one has approached them to encourage them to transgender and, of course, they wouldn't consider it for even a fraction of a second. If there are people are vulnerable to such influence, what do think the probability of them also being ultra-talented in distance running with the drive necessary to do the training?

Any change to the current rules will have to be litigated in court, and no one gives a crap what some people with PhDs think. I'm not aware of any public figure saying that untreated males should be allowed to compete against females. You providing some quotes from some absolute nuts, would not prove anything.

As I said before, no one is going to exploit the rules regarding hormone treatments. Taking the treatments is effectively becoming a woman and it would be devastating both physically and mentally. It's not as if they would be a woman on the track and a dude the rest of the time.

Here's the only part Biden's EO that addresses sports:

"children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports."

Why are people extrapolating it into the end of women's sports? "Children" do not attend college and although it is an extremely rare occurrence for there to be a HS transgender athlete, they are already allowed to compete "as-is" in most states. As I said before, Biden does not dictate NCAA rules.

The title of this thread is unfairly presented as a loaded question. Absolutely no one wants to deny transgender athletes the right to compete. The only point of contention is where they might fairly do so. Personally, I am of the opinion that women's sporting classes were devised to protect a specific class of athletes, and the inclusion of those who don't fit the biological definition of that class should therefore be excluded from it. It's impossible to treat everyone with equal fairness all of the time, and the needs of the many must outweigh the needs of the few. As for inclusion in a sliding scale based on the perceived seriousness of the event, absolutely not. The teenaged girl competing in her age group at a local 5k deserves a level playing field as much as the Olympic medal contender.

Sports leagues, associations, and teams need to change the two major divisions to:

1. People with a Y chromosome

2. People without a Y chromosome

This is a 100% scientific approach that cannot be abused.

If you have a Y chromosome, then you're running with all the other people who have a Y chromosome. If you don't then you run with all the other people who don't.

Very easy to do and inexpensive (23 and me, etc.) and very easy to understand and enforce.

The problem is that the people who talk the loudest about this are the people who have the least understanding of track and field as a sport.

No biological man should ever be allowed to compete as a woman hard stop. Anyone can compete in the men's category. As we can all see the limits of what should be allowed in Women's sports are getting pushed and quite frankly violated. This new Trans hysteria the left has created is ridiculous. If Bruce Jenner wants to get re-assignment surgery and be call Caitlyn fine. She is an adult, no one cares. But this pushing the line of gender in sports is absurd and here in California, the trans indoctrination they are teaching in public schools is nuts. I have nothing against trans people but encouraging kids at a time in life that is already confusing that they should be transitioning is ridiculous and dangerous.

The same people is that speak out against trans in sports is the same people that is speak out against blacks in sports and blacks shared water fountain with whites.

The odd thing is that the ones that go through transgender, homosexuality, etc are the most mentally messed up, because it’s not natural. A long time ago these people would be seen as having a mental disorder, now they’re put on a pedestal and told how brave they are.

Provide some evidence to back up this preposterous claim or admit that you have no control over what comes out of your mouth. No one, I repeat, absolutely no one, wants to keep trans athletes out of sports. If you had the nerve to equate my concern and support for the girls on my team with racism in person, you would have a very bad day.

I’m fine if they compete—but they should compete in a separate trans category, not against traditional females.

Also whenever this topic comes up, I think of Kara Goucher, who has been cheerleading Biden hardcore for months now. She freaked out about the advantage of shoes. Can you imagine her response if she had lost that third Olympic spot to a trans female?
