      • Manangoi tried to challenge him on the backstretch and and Cheruiyot just sprinted to keep the lead and ballgame over. It nearly did in Manangoi. That tatic of going hard with 300 to go is only going to destroy both of them if it works.

        First rabbit did his job, 2:37 first K. Field was about 2:40, but then Kipruto slowed up (while the rabbit got farther and farther ahead) and everyone was stacking up behind him ... no one wanted to pass. That got you the crawling 2:55 second K.

        Weird tactics. With perfect weather and Kipruto down a shoe (and not at 100% even before that), you think someone would have tried going to the front and keeping it fast.

        Granted I didn't see much of the race ... listened on the IAAF radio broadcast. Had a livestream going but between commercials and bad connection missed actually seeing most the race.

      • What is the grouping/spread like for the women's 5k final? I see we're over 2k in but not sure how the field is spread out.
