      • Would you go to the Super Bowl if you had a free ticket, but it was two teams you hated? And had to fly there and back within 3 days? I have a ticket to go, and do love football, but literally hate the Patriots and am neutral on the Eagles. Plus other than the game, I can't stay more than a day so would basically be flying there, watching the game and flying back the next day? Help! Am I going to regret it if I don't go? It might be my only chance to ever go to the Super Bowl.

      • I don't have to pay for ticket or flight. Just wish it were different teams! And wish I could spend a few extra days there. But honestly I highly doubt I will have this opportunity again.

      • You should definitely go. Even if you're not a football fan at all. It's one of those priceless bucket list things that you'll seriously regret later on in life if you don't go. May as well get really drunk too.

      • It may also be your only chance to scalp the ticket for a whole lot of money outside the stadium.

        Or are you not allowed to do that anymore?

      • If you don't really care, why go? It won't be that exciting to you...Plus, you can sell the ticket for a ton of money and then go on a pretty good vacation with the money you made.

        Or, in letsrun message board terms, you should start a thread labeled "Should I sell My Super Bowl Ticket and Invest in Bitcoin?"

      • If I don’t take it, the ticket will be given to someone else. So I can’t sell it. The only thing I don’t care for is the two teams playing. I actually love watching football (watched every sunday) and have never obviously experienced a Super Bowl atmosphere. I’m prob going to go, but just kind of wanted to see what others would do in that situation. It’s a lot of travel in 3-4 days but it’s the Super Bowl and this tickets cost thousands of dollars.

      • I'd rather go to a Super Bowl where I didn't like the teams, actually.

        I am an Eagles fan and would rather watch on TV than deal with everything involved with getting there and stadium security and probably a bad view.

        nearly the same thing for me 3 years ago.
        i wasn't going to go. family/friends talked me into it, thankfully.
        i'll never regret it and had a great time.

      • Go to the game. Obviously the ideal scenario is to have your team playing, but you never know if you'll get this chance again. It's a really cool atmosphere, and with two fairly evenly-matched teams, it should be a good game as well.

        And if you need a reason to have a rooting interest, put some money on the game. That will get you involved.

      • You should go, if you can find a place to stay. I live in the Twin Cities and heard most places are full and/or price gouging. You could stay with me, but my dogs bark a lot.

      • Thanks guys, I’m going to go! Have a place to stay as a lot of my family lives there. They were all hoping for a Vikings Super Bowl but hopefully this game won’t be a blowout

      • I’m getting older so this final disappointment have been the final straw. I can’t fathom sitting through an entire season just to be kicked in the nuts yet again.

        Anyway, if the Vikes has made the Super Bowl I would prefer to be at home for it. I could save the thousands of dollars and cater an awesome party for my friends who I care about versus being with tens of thousands of wasted idiots. I’m no prude, I love drinking during football, but NFL fans at stadiums take it to a different level. Having my own friends, my own couch, my own food and drink, my own bathroom are far more appealing to me.

      • Well, if you really want to watch the game, don't go, you will see it better at home on TV.

        But, it is something most people think is pretty cool, so the fact that you can do it for free seems like a fun weekend. The game is secondary, the event is the thing.

        I have gone twice, first time was free and I thought it was a once in a lifetime thing, turned out to be a long football game.

        The second time I paid for the ticket, could not resist the chance to see the Giants beat the Patriots in person, was almost worth it. Will never go again, it is just a game. watching at home is much better.

      • Yep it's more about the event for me in deciding to go. I've watched a million NFL games on TV, but have never been to one live. So might as well make it the Superbowl! And it may not be all that I have hyped it up to be, but then I'll know and never wonder what if.
