      • Since the athletic department knows nothing about track or xc, it's easier to just hire someone who is already around and has a decent resume. Anything is an upgrade over assistant baseball coaches in their eyes

        Someone who understands they won’t get any scholarship to work with, will be paid peanuts & realizes their job is to get 5 kids across 6 finish lines in the fall. Someone who understands it’s a 2-3 year stepping stone on to a job they may not be pulling their hair out at. At least the job doesn’t have to “check the usual boxes” since they’ve already checked those. All you mid-20-something white guys who’ve been volunteering for 3 years & know you’re the next big thing...GO!

        Heck, they didn't even have a women's 4x4 at the SEC meet. Their best this year was 3:45.54. That's kind of embarrassing for an elite school. Especially when you have a 49.8 leg. Oh, wait, she didn't run on that 3:45.

        That not his job he is mens sprint coach , Women's sprints falls on Althea Thomas
