Lafayette?
The number of "no way's" to Avery's offers to coach the women's distances are shocking. Should have tried harder to keep Forest...

I imagine Avery Anderson already has someone in mind to take his spot.
^ Yeah.

This is true for EVERY NCAA administration.
Did I mention the people making decisions about track and field have no track and field experience or understanding?
.
It's also why track teams get cut, because the admin can't manage their budget

Is it common for coaches to add an action shot to their bio?

Nicholas Gibson, new Limestone Head XC Coach.
Wow... how about thinking with some logic? Avery is alum... has been a head coach in the area for many years... knows the high school coaches in the area and throughout the state. They guy is smart and understands the scvhool, and the sport.

Blame UCLA sports administration for this train wreck. They basically said, "What we need is a black head coach. We have none. You there, you will do! Now, we don't like how things have been going - we fired the Water Polo coach because he came in #2 in the country, darn it - and we take zero responsibility for lack of support or understanding of the sports we supervise. So, it must be the coaches' problem. Be sure you make a change. Fire all the coaches, because you can't fire us ha ha ha. Too bad for the athletes. They can go to the other PAC12 programs. We didn't care about them, anyway ha ha ha. Now. Hire some coaches to live and work between Beverly Hills and Bel Air with almost no salary money. THOSE COACHES BETTER BE TOP NOTCH. $50K should get you the best in the nation. Good luck with that. And win PAC12 over that half ass Oregon sports admin program, and Nationals while you're at it. Or it's the ax for you, brah. Great to have you aboard."

Note: I agree that UCLA needs to hire black head coaches. I also agree they need to hire black administrators... they have none. Four people interviewed for the director position, three black alums and an Also Ran, Hoyt. Internal candidates knew that firing the staff would mean total destruction to the team cohesiveness and difficulty recruiting top coaches to such an expensive area.
With 2 practice units per day, and I believe 1 on Sunday, there is no way kids are within the rules by starting this weekend. Even if their first meet is September 1st, which is doubtful.

When will we see announcements from Auburn, W&M, Harvard and Charlotte?? Kids are starting to get to campus now, time to get a move on.
First day of permissible competition is Sept 1; NCAA rules permit practices starting using a formula based on the start of classes.
Still 1-2 weeks away.
Oh yeah... and it's football season!
ADs could care less about XC starting.
Was this position ever posted? Is this the part time position posted in June?

Any word on the BGSU position? Head men's XC chick wentz is leaving. Allegedly they already have a shortlist?
For the Portland job? That would be one hell of a drive.
