        I'll give you a +1 on the weekend: minus one for the nosering but +2 for making the team on these feet and keeping it quiet until after.

        That's crazy! Awesome to tough it out where others would've made excuses.

        I'm not a fan of noserings but I am a fan of people expressing themselves.

      • I heard it mentioned that her foot was all torn up. Did this happen during the first round? I assume it was not as raw two days later. Still must have been very painful.

      • Wow. That kind of blistering can be pretty dangerous stuff. Very easy to get an infection and have serious complications. Have to wonder whether she would have beat Simpson to the line if she had all her skin on her foot.

        She was boxed until about 85m to go and was closing hard before the finish

      • Thanks for the video. If you pause the video at 4:48, you can see the shoe come out from behind the back of the pack with just about 600 to go. I had to pause it like 3 times to get it right, but you can see it.

        Strange she'd get skin torn off in 600 meters. She must not be used to running barefoot at all.

      • Sure it may have hurt but between the adrenaline of it being USAs and trainers being really good at bandaging up stuff like that, I would hesitate to say that she'd beat Jenny Simpson without sustaining those wounds. Regardless, props to Shannon for not making excuses though and getting the job done. I still don't see Jenny Simpson losing; Jenny is racing with great confidence and looking awesome right now. It should be fun to see them continue to face off.
