        I like Solinsky a lot but I found his quote "She was there through the hardest times that I had in 2008. She understands as far down as I've gotten to the bottom, and then now where I've gotten with this success, so she appreciates successes just as much as I do." to be ref***indiculous. He makes it sound like he was some shitty runner who couldn't catch a break. Chris, you were a second year pro and you got 5th in the Olympic Trials. If that is your "bottom" I would be very greatful.

      • I would say his NCAA XC race in his senior year was the bottom.

      • I suspect that Chris will keep on going as long as it 'makes sense'; that is, as long as he can hammer out the laps while not over-extending himself so that it stays a training run.

        It is interesting that Teg is thinking of running the 10,000; it may reflect the difficulty of making the team for the 5000 both this year and next.

      • so Solinsky does not have an Olympic 10k qualifier. Why not pace Nelson and just stick around for a 27:44?
        Get your qualifier and you don't have to think about it again. I think he can run the qualifying time quite easy, and could do it sort of any time he wants.
        Why not take it on Sunday when you can get it and then if shit happens next year and you are hurt, or travel plans are screwed or whatever you already have a qualifier?

        You are not Solinsky - that is the difference! I was near him after the Oly Trials 5k and he was devastated - he clearly expected to make the team!!! He obviously set his goals very high; that is why he is as good as he is.
