      • I can 2nd the fact that his bib HAS been picked up. I asked the packet pickup people. They told me a few other people have asked and it had been picked up. He said a race official asked, too, so maybe they plan on keeping an eye on him. Now we play the waiting game until the morning. You need photo ID to get your packet, so unless someone is crazy enough to get a fake one, Kip IS in Boston

      • Poor Kip. Tomorrow was going to be his day to red line it, drop a sub 3:00 and then claim that he was the innocent victim of a vast conspiracy within the running community. Me and 87 degrees says he dnfs instead of taking a 3:20.

        Or will he pull off the greatest "job" of all time? Something tells me the officials are going to be distracted tending to the wounded. Lots of opportunities for our hero to take care of business.

      • Dr. Litton is coming back from a 15month break? It's a bit strange that he'd be running, given he hasn't raced since December 2010. I know he was supposed to run CowTown Marathon way back in February 2011, but he didn't show. I know there was this rumor about him having been in a car accident and possibly knee surgery in the mix as well. Runners wouldn't just take off that much time and hop in a race in 88 degree weather unless there was something extraordinary going on, don't you think?...maybe this thread....

      • It has NOT been 15 months! He has run a number of 5k-10ks, as documented here on this thread. If I remember correctly, he finished top 3 in a couple of them- no idea if there was any funny stuff (look back thru the thread).

        He has also run several marathons (under aliases). One I know for sure was when people thought he was running the indoor marathon in Minnesota in January, but he actually ran Disney instead.

        Not to be a dick, but I've followed this thread very, very closely, (posted here since page 1) so I know everything there is about the whole Kip Litton saga, and I know of ZERO races Kip has done since December, 2010. So I'm asking you politely to please list any results of Kip's you've spotted over the past 15months.

        I do recall there was speculation he ran under an alias at a Disney marathon (around the time he DNS at Minnesota indoor marathon). If true, it's very important you let us know the alias. Because if we don't know the alias and see the alias' official result, we cannot investigate to see if Kip actually ran this race. Thanks for your cooperation....whoever you are.

        At Minnesota, Someone was registered as Kip Litton and not an alias.

      • No, not really your theory or speculation at all. A poster named off course oscar (or something like that) was the first person early in the thread to figure it out as dozens of others, including many of the guys still posting, had no clue. He waits till most runners have already crossed, he won't be seen by any of those runners again, he gets back on the course and.....it's not rocket science, but ooc was the first to post it, not you.

      • I have good news and bad. I have been working on this for months. If you don't recall, I have a friend that works at the BAA & was able to fill me in as to why Kip was allowed to run. After the BAA questioned him about 2010, he provided them with photos his friends/family took that placed him at many more spots on the course. That SUCKS!

        But here's the real BAD news- because of recent anonymous threats that they have received about harming Kip on the course & the avalanche of signups to track him, for his own safety and others, they may NOT broadcast his personal checkpoints until he completes the race! That REALLY SUCKS!!

        Don't Panic! There IS GOOD NEWS! They will still be tracking him, and it will be every 5K. Also, along with threats, there were a couple of guys in his corral that heard about Kip and volunteered to keep an eye on him from the start. With the high temps, they are willing to shadow him, regardless of pace.

        If everything goes as planned, my bud is going to text me his spit times as they come thru. I will post them here as I get them. Stay tuned!!

        I doubt any anonymous threats were made to BAA against Kip. Complaints perhaps but not threats of physical harm. More likely, Kip has taken a razor to his timing strip on his bib and thus won't record.
