It's racist to think that Lebid is using doping just because he's white and from Ukraine.
One of his athetes is being signed up to a drug programme right now.

If someone is interested, I can post it thru e-mail, but you have to translate.
[quote]Renato Canova,
If you can you please e-mail me the info?
Thanks
I see that very stupid people continue to write on this site. Nice then bad speaks about EPO, showing a mistrusting mentality that is his own limit. You instead are totally moron and lying, speaking about something that doesn't exist. Who his the athlete signed to a drug program right now, please ? Because, if is true, I also want to have the pleasure to know him. Instead hiding back a pseudonym for shooting "cazzate" (italian word for stupid and ridiculous things), it's better to speak clearly about what you know. But your problem is that you don't know anything, and, like the most part of idiots frequenting this site, your fun is to slander other people for justifying your incompetence. Anyway, in every good family there are morons for whom intelligence is an optional.
Regarding Nicholas Kemboi, it's true, he went to Barhain together with James Kwalia, deciding this without asking anybody for advice. They train in Iten, together Stephen Cherono (Shaheen) that is with Qatar. Qatar and Barhain don't have very big relations, beeing rivals in Asia. So, the offers to the guys were consistant, regarding their future. One of the most important opportunities that they can have, is to have complete support in training, without paying directly expenses when are in Europe.
Anyway, because Nicholas, following the current rules, is not yet elegible for Olympics (he represented Kenya last time during WCCCh 2002, and for Olympics he needs 3 years of time), I didn't agree, but nothing I could do, as people is free to decide about their life.

Perfect description of these message-boards, and an excellent put-down.
Don't be put off Renato, your comments and information are always hugely appreciated.
Believe me I know. When was the last time you spoke to all of your athletes? Where are they all now? Think about it and then ask yourself how certain, how absolutely certain you are that they are definately clean. The truth will come out. You may be as suprised as I am disgusted.
You have no credibility at all. Until people start stepping up and doing something with the information they think they do have, then they are a part of the problem also.
Renato, thanks for post all of the information you do have.
Renato - thanks for posting all this stuff. I know most people are grateful for the incredible insights you have provided. It's amazing that you manage to remain so calm with so many ridiculous accusation thrown at you from some posters.
Cheers!
It comes to a point where you get so disillusioned with the sport that I really don't care what people on this board think. I posted what I did to ask Renato to seriously think about his group, and think about what they are doing when he is not with them. Where is he now and where are his athletes? I am sure Renato is not involved in any form of doping, however that does not mean his athletes are not involved.
The point is - don't tell us, tell the IAAF or WADA. Email Renato direct if you have information for him. What good does it do posting unsubstantiated accusations anonymously on a message board?
Ringer, exactly, that is my point.
Jean, do you have first hand information about doping? If so, what have you done with this information?
Jean: Do you personally know any of Renato's athletes? Have you lived with them big parts of the year and have great insight in their lifes and training? The answer is NO you haven't.
Renato has, and I don't think he would train athletes he didn't trust. Trust is by far the most important part in a successful coach-athlete relationship.
It's sad to see that another "Training-thread" has developed into a "EPO-thread" but I guess It's the "Letsrun-syndrome".
I first brought the subject up regarding Ledbed and doping, however, having read what Renato has written I tend to believe him. I appreciate his posts, and hope posters don't continue to hypothosise without any proof. Thanks again Renato for the informative posting.
Mr. Renato Canova
The drugs is the last running subject that i want to come really, it´s worst to keep on going your vital information about your training ideas.
I think that´s so stupid that if a runner got sucess, people simple argue that are the drugs, that you keeps denying that the drugs they really exists in the sport and in running sport.
But if you say that people are stupid by saying that ther´s a EPO program and you ask "tell me right now what the runner that is in this EPO programe" and you still insists that drugs are a fantasy in running sport then i need to come to the subject.
In a previous post you Senore Renato you also say ".... The truth is that the easier way for having drugs is Internet : if you live in a western and technological Country, you can buy every type of drug with your credit card, and sellers can send you a secret package without any control...".
I live in Europe and i pay attention and never heard such a thing...to buy EPO without medical control.
So let me ask you 2 questions:
1. Please what´s the site adress that we can but it? Right now, if you please, as you ask about EPO program.
2. You say that DRUGS are a over estimate subject. New drugs and past drugs, but you don´t belive to much in it.
You also told us that you were Scientific Director of Italien Federation.
I supose that you know a lot past and present italien runners.
So, tell me right now the facts, to stop supositions: whose among italien runners were official accused to taking drugs and suspends, which among Mays, Pannettas, Pollis, Antibos and all the rest. Men and women. Past and present names, and please, tell us what drug they were accuse, to prove that drugs aren´t confine to EPO and that come from the past.
Well, you can include as well all recent foreign runners that.
After answering clearly to my 2 questions with the facts, then you can send accusations for the people stupidity, or if you aren´t able to answer my questions, please, simply stay in the site by posting and discuss training ideas rather than answer whatever stupid guy.
Thanks, with all respect.
I already answered to your questions thru private e-mail, but now I read also in this post the same request.
So, I answer, in more synthetic way, for all readers.
a) The only Italian runners accused for doping were in the last years :
Roberto BARBI,
was taken for EPO during WCh 2001 in Edmonton. He was a marathon runner, working 8 hours a day like worker in a factory of paper, training sometimes after 10pm by night. We were very much surprised from this fact, as Barbi was considered an example for Italian runners for his passion and self-sacrifice. In Edmonton, he ran very bad (around 2:36, if I well remember, as he was sick). After the result of his test, he said that was in EPO from 3 years, having a doctor working with cyclists. He was banned for 2 years by our Federation.
Andrea LONGO,
on the contrary of Barbi, was taken for Nandrolone during Turin Meeting 2001 (in June), but could demonstate his innocence. He was testimonial, in Italy, of Ultimate Nutrition. He used BAAC (or something else, in any case aminoacids) for recovering after hard training, and only this.
When he was found positive, he tried to understand. Italian Federation spend about 20.000 Euros for buying, in different Countries (Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy and Germany), the same product that he used.
All these products were sent to Cologne laboratory (that is the first in the World for antidoping, together with Lausanne), and all were tested. About 25% of this integrator was found contaminated. So, IAAF well recognized the innocence of Longo, but didn't want to change the penalty, as in the same period IAAF itself decided to consider, in any case, an athlete GUILTY in order to avoid all the excuses that normally athletes had when positives. So, from June 2001, athletes are fully responsible of their actions, because the unknowledge of what they take isn't accepted.
So, Longo was banned for 2 years, and came back for the last WCh, going to the final in 800m.
Giuliano BATTOCLETTI
He had the same case of Longo, two years early. Like Longo, he was able to demonstrate that the integrator was contaminated. So, after a period of about 6 months used for analysing the items bought in different chemist's shops, not having yet the IAAF the rule regarding the full responsability of the athlete, he was acquitted, coming back to activity in 2000. Also for him the substance was Nandrolone.
Silvana TRAMPUZ
She ran with Australia having two passports, and was taken for Nandrolone during Paris Marathon. Living in the same area of Battocletti, the behavior for the same, testing the same integrator that both took, having the same doctor following them. Like Battocletti, she was cleared after 1 year, because many random items were tested contaminated. You must know that, on the joined paper with posology and composition, of course Nandrolone is not present.
Regarding runners of middle and long distances, this is all that we can find in many years of activity.
In the period between '80 / '85, some athletes used self-blood-transfusion (Cova, Antibo, the Selvaggi brothers, Fontanella, may be Dorio). In the same period, other athletes refused this practice (Mei, Panetta, Bordin, all marathon runners, all walkers).
I already had the opportunity to explain like results are individual, and how some athlete had problems making worse his performance (at the same time some other was able to improve). Anyway, when in '85 this practice (before allowed) became doping, in Italy it was no more used.
About the opportunity of buying drugs thru internet, I don't have any address, because when some proposal in that direction arrives on my e-mail I'm very disturbed, and eliminate soon. But I can assure that many times (3-4 every month) there are e-mail talking about any type of drugs (not only EPO, but really drugs), with informations for buying without any problem. The first time a similar e-mail arrives to me, I will provide to send you, so you also can see how easy can be to buy drug using "modern technology".
For other things, I don't want to bore people with too many words. I answered personally to your e-mail, explaining why I don't believe in doping. I'm sure about my athletes, because, if someone asks me something about doping, after 10 minutes is no more in my group. I'm an educator before beeing a coach, and think that the best strenght is in your mind, respecting other people and yourself. May be that this is the secret of my best athletes : to be normal persons, having a positive way of thinking.
Renato,
Please don't feel offended by the naysayers in this site.
In my native Kikuyu (Kenyan Language), we have this saying that every market place has its mad man.
The EPO guys as well as those who keep on heaping obscenities in this forum have sunk to the lowest levels that humans can. We should not stoop to their level for we know better.
Just ignore them.
Another thing for your information. I was in Kenya among 5th and 16th of December. During that period, I met O'Sullivan (coach in Villanova) in "Wagon Hotel" in Eldoret.
There was also an official of WADA, that, in different days, had random tests to these athletes (but probably also other were tested) :
Wilfred Bungei
Stephen Cherono (Shaheen)
Paul Kanda (beeing in top 20 in HM last year)
Paul Kosgei (at the moment non running for injury)
Dorcus Inzikuru (my Ugandian athlete, training in Kapsabet camp)
Nicholas Kemboi
James Kwalia
These because many people think that only in US there are tests.
Have a good night.
I'm working on the translations of L and Kimwetich right now. I'll have them done tomorrow or Saturday.
