Bill Benson ran a 4:29 mile in college, but then took a 36-year long break before getting back into running when he was 60.

After being out 2-years with injury, Mageean was 3rd last week at the Fifth Avenue Mile.
"Winning today solidified that I was able to keep the whole season together, be strong from the beginning to the end. I felt pressure for myself to win today, because it was a perfect way to cap off what's been a really successful season. I think that I took a big jump this year, both in fitness and in confidence. It would be a mistake to think that I have to make another big jump next year. I'm just hoping that I can keep up the momentum, fix some little mistakes here and there and be just as good next year."

Cain didn't run Stockholm or Zurich as planned but Salazar says her workouts are going great.
Alberto Salazar says she's in great shape and that they skipped the Zurich DL meet becuase she didn't want to miss classes to only go to one European race (Cain is now officially a freshman at the University of Portland).
