The race offers some big money. Ethiopian Gebo Burka, who won LA two months ago, got out to a big lead and won $9,000 and the men's race in 2:16:30.
2:29 marathoner Clara Santucci is one of the favorites.
Santucci was the top American in Chicago with 9th place finish.
