No world records fell today in Ostrava but there was plenty of great action as a ton of BIG names picking up wins as the likes of Laura Muir, Faith Kipyegon, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Ryan Crouser, Karsten Warholm, Christian Taylor and Sifan Hassan all vanquished the competition.

Hassan completed an epic double with an epic front-run that resulted in a 3:51.95 win.

We can't wait for the final which will include Shelby Houlihan, Laura Muir, Olympic champ Faith Kipyegon, world champ Sifan Hassan and former world champ Jenny Simpson believes she's as fit as she's ever been.

Rhonex Kipruto (debut) and Jakob Ingebrigtsen are also in the 5k, while Laura Muir and Konstanze Klosterhalfen will battle Kipyegon in the 1500.

Sifan Hassan had a fantastic year but Hellen Obiri's year was just a little bit better as she won both the DL final and the fastest race of the year (Rabat) over Hassan. Meanwhile, American Shelby Houlihan was the 8th fastest woman in the world this year.

In 2018, Shelby Houlihan enjoyed one of the greatest seasons ever by an American female on the track, but it wasn't quite enough to get her a world #1 ranking.

Dibaba was sensational once again over the last 1k - nearly beating the indoor 1k world record en route to her fifth indoor gold.

Genzebe Dibaba’s mastery of the indoor oval continues. Dibaba was able to just hold on and secure a much deserved gold after she made a big mid-race move. The question we have now is, "Should Hassan be DQd for cutting off Muir near the line?"
