The soon to be Georgia alum (she graduates this month) was 4th in the 800 at NCAAs last year and joined Brooks Beasts in September. She only had a 2:17 PR in high school, but has progressed to 2:02.06
They talk to six top mid-d runners and see how they do in XC. Megan Malasarte: “At SECs last fall I overheard a coach yell, ‘One mile to go!’ as if that were a good thing. It was a bit of a mental shock hearing that instead of the bell for a lap to go.”
Malasarte ran for the University of Georgia and was 4th in the 800 at NCAAs this year. Mergaert was 3rd in the NCAA 1500 in 2013.
