Merber's previous best was the 3:35.59 he ran at the Swarthmore Last Chance meet in 2012. It was a huge PR for Garcia who had only ran 4:13.33 for 1500 previously. Cory Leslie (3:35.36) and Stephanie Brown (4:07.55) were the runner-ups.

Alabama's Alex Amankwah won the 800 in 1:46.86 over Cory Leslie (1:47.63). On the women's side: Brook Feldmeir in the 800 (2:05.27), Rhianwedd Price in the mile (4:39.38) and Oiselle's Jordan Hamric in the 3000 (9:32.76).
