The men's race came down to a final 200m kick with Kipruto beating out Ethiopia's Shura Kitata by only 2-seconds.
2:05 man Vincent Kipruto is also in the field. Dibaba, our #1 ranked marathoner for 2015, ran 2:19:52 in Xiamen last year.
Mosop set the Chinease all-comers' record, breaking the 2:06:32 ran by Sammy Wanjiru when he won the 2008 Olympics. This was a big race for Mosop who has struggled the last couple of years, only running 2:20:37 in his last marathon in May.
There are also another nine sub-2:10 men in the field. Mare Dibaba (2:19:52) faces Mamitu Daska may (2:21:59) in the women's race.
In her first marathon in 17 months, Mare Dibaba, who has a 2:19:52 pb, went out fast and was on 2:19:29 pace at 30km before fading. 38-year old Mariko Kiplagat won a tactical men's race in 2:08:06.
Terfa who also won in Rome last year will face stiff competition from Endeshaw Negesse who ran 2:04:52 last year in Dubai. 2:19:52 woman Mare Dibaba races a marathon for the first time since the 2012 Olympics.
