"The best thing we decided was I needed to get really good at asking questions, probing, and that's probably the foundation of our relationship. We don't have a written contract; we never will. I don't take a cent from Tom; never will. We're doing this because we want to and to build on some healthy foundations."
Will they all square off at World Indoors?
It sounds like Walsh would rather just end his season, but will likely keep going because of the monetary incentives. "There is a long time between drinks, so to speak," he said.
Walsh briefly set a Kiwi all-comers record of 21.46m in the 2nd round.
He's getting ready to face Gil, Ryan Crouser and Ryan Whiting at the Big Shot event in Christchurch on Feb. 19.
"I wouldn't be doing this sport if I didn't think I could break the world record. So I want to give it a real go and it's been around for too long."
