Do you know what the men's indoor marathon record is? You're probably not surprised to hear that Michael Wardian holds it.
Wardian first ran 3:06:24 (5:59.9 pace) thinking he had the record, only to find out a few hours that it was actually 3:05:57. So he went back to the treadmill and ran 3:03:56 (5:55 pace). Making it even weirder, he did it on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. Wardian: "It showed people if you don’t succeed the first time, if you’re able to, you can take another crack at it—if you’re a glutton for punishment."
Michael Wardian was 6th.
Michael Wardian is also one of the top seeds.
40-year-old Michael Wardian was 4th in 2:25:42.
He ran 2:31 to win RNR San Antonio and then 2:57 for the second one in Las Vegas.
