Max Siegel, USATF officials and the Athletes Advisory Committee (AAC) met over the weekend and agreed on a distribution plan that will deliver an additional $9 million in cash to US athletes over the next 5-years, seeing them paid more for qualifying for and medalling at global championships. The plan got backing from both Will Leer and Nick Symmonds.

Leer won over Pat Casey (3:52.62), Cory Leslie (3:53.44), Zane Robertson (3:53.72) and Kyle Merber (3:54.76). Phoebe Wright won the 800 in 2:01.91 as Mark English won with 1:45.79 and US's Ryan Martin was 2nd (1:45.79). Juan Luis Barrios won the 3K in 7:44.21 over Trevor Dunbar (7:45.09). Ireland got an upset win when Thomas Barr beat world champ Jehune Gordon in the 400H with 48.94.
German Fernandez was 10th in 3:38.11. Chris Solinsky ran 8:00.46 for 7th in the 3000.
Team captains Will Leer and Chanelle Price accepted the award. Jamaica was 2nd in the team standings, Kenya 3rd.
Leer had questions about the Jesse Owens award and whether athletes with past doping suspensions (in this instance LaShawn Merritt) should be eligible to receive it. Apparently he was mostly ignored and eventually reprimanded by Max Siegel.
