Both races were close as former Kenyan NR holder Kwambai won by three seconds and former Boston champ Kilel by one
Kwambai is the former Kenyan NR holder (he ran 2:04:27 seven years ago) and Kilel was the 2011 Boston Marathon champ.
In Italy, Kenyan Rodgers Maiyo defeated world junior cross-country silver medallist Geoffrey Korir by 2-seconds.
The men's field has Moses Kipsiro, Isiah Koech, Emmanuel Bett and former World XC champ Japheth Korir.
Ronoh has an interesting side-job as he also works as a wildlife ranger and has to sometimes work sentry duty at night and sleeps during the day. 2011 Boston Marathon winner Caroline Kilel leads women's field against Violah Jelagat (69:27 half PR).
In hot conditions Chebet dropped out and Korir finished outside the top-20 (top 6 qualify for Kenyan XC Champs). Sheila Chepngetich won the women's race over former Boston winner Caroline Kilel and WJ XC champ Faith Kipyegon with Mercy Cherono only 7th. William Sitonik won the men's race as Isiah Koech and Edwin Soi were 6th and 8th. Big names like Chebet and Korir could still be selected as a wildcard spot.

Kiplagat beat Caroline Kilel by 56-seconds with Olympic champ Tiki Gelana way back in 3rd (70:37). South Africa's Stephen Mokoka won the men's race in 1:01:25 over Kenya's Stephen Chemlany (1:01:32) and Mark Kiptoo (1:01:35). Haile Gebrselassie dropped out after only 5K saying he had problems with his asthma.
This will be Keitany's first race back from pregnancy as she gave birth to a daughter last year. Her last race was at the 2012 Olympics were she was 4th. Her she faces former Boston Marathon champ Caroline Kilel and Ethiopian national 10K champ Yebrqual Melese. In the marathon on Sunday 2:04:48 man Yemane Tsegay leads field over 2012 Boston Marathon champ Wesley Korir as well as Bazu Worku. The women's field has two 2:23 runners in Ehitu Kiros and Agnes Kiprop.
Rotterdam Marathon winner Jemimah Chelagat was 2nd and 2012 Boston champ Sharon Cherop 6th. Other notable names included 1997 World 10K champ Sally Barsosio in 14th and 2008 Olympic 1500m champion Nancy Langat in fifteenth. In the men's race Leonard Oloitiptip defended his title as former World XC champ Joseph Ebuya was sixth. Elsewhere, former Boston Marathon Champ Caroline Kilel won her county championships in Kericho.
