There have only been six races in history in which multiple Americans have broken 2:10 (the record is four guys under 2:10, achieved at the 2012 Olympic Trials). But with seven of the top 12 finishers from the Trials entered on Sunday, we could see as many as half a dozen Americans break the barrier in Arizona.

The bad news: an American is almost certain to get lapped in Sunday's London Marathon. The good news: you can get lapped in London and still run really, really fast. We preview the chances of Jared Ward, Sara Hall, Molly Seidel, and Lindsay Flanagan. The men's race has eight men who have run sub-2:05 including Mosinet Geremew (2:02:55) and Mule Wasihun (2:03:16) while the women's race also has world champ Ruth Chepngetich and former London winner Vivian Cheruiyot. Mo Farah will be a pacer for the men going for the 2:11:30 Olympic standard.

The women's race includes Dom Scott-Efurd, Kellyn Taylor, Laura Thweatt and Stephanie Bruce. The meet will be streamed live on RunnerSpace starting at 9:30am EST.

The race will be broadcast for free at 10AM ET on Instagram.

Kamworor ran his final 10k in 29:14 and got the win as Jared Ward took top American honors in 6th and Abdi Abdirahman set a new US masters record of 2:11:34 at age 42.

NYC's elite men's field isn't deep at all, but with Geoffrey Kamworor coming in off a half marathon WR, Lelisa Desisa chasing an unprecedented Worlds/NYC double, and Jared Ward entering in terrific shape, the men's race should still be a good one.

The good news is the women's race has some real firepower up front. The bad news is the men's race will set a record-low in terms of depth for a recent Abbott World Marathon Major.
