Columbia's Anthony Zambrano was second (44.15) and USA's Fred Kerley got the bronze (44.17).
"I didn't think that my first USATF championship was going to be a 100 gold medal. I always thought it would be the 200. So to come out here to win the 100, it made me very happy.
The top 3 all set PBs including Florida's Grant Holloway (26-8¼) in 2nd and Texas Tech's Charles Brown (26-7¾) in a key event in terms of the team title.
