LRC The GOAT is Back: Kenenisa Bekele Runs Stunning 2:01:41 at BMW Berlin Marathon

What a run by Bekele who just missed the world record by 2 seconds. American Sara Hall ran 2:22:16 to become the 6th fastest American of all-time.

The 2:18:11 woman will face former Olympic 5000m champ Meseret Defar (2:23:33 PB) and Olympic bronze medalist Mare Dibaba (2:19:52).

LRC Kenenisa Bekele Will Lead The Ethiopian Charge At The Berlin Marathon

Bekele is the fastest in a field that includes six men in the 2:06 range or faster with the next fastest being Tokyo champ Leul Gebrselassie (2:04:02). Race director Mark Milde said they wouldn't be attacking Eliud Kipchoge's WR, but that he still expects a group running around 2:03 (61:30 is the planned halfway pace).
