Shericka Jackson Blazes At Jamaican Champs
Elaine Thompson-Herah was second in 22.0 and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce third (22.14). Only FloJo (21.34) and Thompson-Herah (21.53) have run faster. Andrew Hudson won the men's race in 20.10 to beat out Yohan Blake (20.31).

Lyles and Knighton were both brilliant, but it was the veteran Lyles who prevailed in the US 200m final in 19.67 to Knighton's 19.69, pointing across Knighton's chest on the way in.
Fisher won the first US title of his career in a meet record 13:03.86 while Hoppel ran a smart and hard-fought race to win his first US 800m outdoor title in 1:44.60.
US distance stars Mu, Wilson, Coburn and Cranny as well as Raevyn Rogers, Courtney Frerichs and Courtney Wayment will all be back in Eugene in three weeks for World Champs.

- The Telegraph: "Max Burgin On Path To Stardom After Obliterating Rivals To Win British 800m Title" Burgin front-ran his way to 1:44.54 and then threw up during his post-race interview. Ben Bloom writes that there is something about Burgin that is "reminiscent of David Rudisha."
- Daryll Neita Completes Sprint Double With 200m Victory In 22.34 She is the first woman to win the 100/200 double since 2010. Marc Scott took the 5000m in 13:42.82, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake won the men's 200m in 20.05 and Jemma Reekie the 800m in 2:06.03.
- Laura Muir Wins British 1500m Title By Almost Five Seconds With 4:12.91 Muir sat at the back of the pack through a very slow early pace before kicking hard with 500m to go. Afterwards she revealed that her coach told her to run a 400m time trial during the race.

- MB: Kenyan Trials: Wycliffe Kinyamal 1:43.55, Abel Kipsang Beats Timothy Cheruiyot In Close One Kinyamal won over world U20 champ Emmanuel Wanyonyi (1:44.01) while Kipsang edged Cheruiyot by .04 (3:34.55 t 3:34.59). Kumari Taki and Raynold Cheruiyot were a very close 3-4 in 3:34.73 and 3:34.77.
- World Athletics Kenyan Champs Recap: Mary Moraa Wins Women's 800m In 1:57.45 Over Olympic 1500m Champ Faith Kipyegon (1:58.18) Nicholas Kimeli took the men’s 5000m in 13:28.76 as Sarah Jepleting won the women's race in 15:05.24.
BAA 10k
Korir won in 28:00 over Kennedy Kimutai's 27:07 (Ben True was 4th in 28:09) while D'Amato ran 31:17 to dominate over Emily Sisson (32:03) and Edna Kiplagat (32:09).
The men's 1500 was tactical and Cooper Teare still won. Sinclaire Johnson CRUSHED everyone in the women's 1500 and Evan Jager has never been so happy to lose a race in his life.

Jackson won in 10.77 over Kemba Nelson (10.88) and ETH (10.89). Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce sat out of the final all-together since she has an automatic spot at Worlds as the defending champion.
- MB: Yohan Blake's Back Baby!!!! Blake won the Jamaican trials in 9.85, his fastest time since 2012. Oblique Seville was runner-up in 9.88.

- Former Half-Marathon WR Holder Kibiwott Kandie Wins Kenyan 10,000m Trials In 27:33.57 Kandie blasted from four places back with 200m to go to win over world under-20 5000m silver medalist Waithaka Mburu (27:34.01).
- Hellen Obiri Wins Kenyan Trials 10,000m In 3149.55 In A Close Race With Sheila Chepkirui (31:50.13) And World Silver Medalist Margaret Chelimo (31:50.22) Obiri says she's undecided on whether she'll compete at both Worlds and the Commonwealth Games.
- Ferdinand Omanyala Strolls To Victory In Kenyan Trials 100m Omanyala won easily in 10.03.
No one is laughing at Fred Kerley for moving down to the 100 anymore as he is now just the second human to run two 9.7s on the same day. Meanwhile, the US women's 100 champ was just 8th at USAs. Plus a huge upset in the men's LJ after a near shock in the women's vault.
The HSer came up just short of the final after running 1:47.00 as the heavy hitters in the men's and women's 800s as well as women's steeplechase all looked good save for Isaiah Jewett who was eliminated.

This gives the US more leeway but doesn’t guarantee that the top 3 finishers at the Olympic Trials will be on the team. Repeat after us, if a country is sending 3, they should be allowed to send any three they want, particularly if it's the top 3 in a Trials race.

Some Big Prize Money At Peachtree This Year
No one has ever broken 27:00 on the roads in the US, but with $53,000 on the line for a course record (current record is 27:01), one might think a Eugene 10,000 competitor might run it 13 days before Worlds.
$53,000 will be given out if anyone breaks a course record (Kosgei's women's CR is 30:22).
