Yalemzerf Yehualaw was runner-up in 64:40 (#3 all-time) while Hellen Obiri made her debut at 64:51 for third place. Kibiwott Kandie won his showdown with Geoffrey Kamworor, holding him off by 3 seconds with a 59:35 win.
Potter ran the time in Asics new "super shoes," but there was no on-site drug testing. Her time is actually the second fastest ever as Joyciline Jepkosgei split 14:32 during a 2017 10k (before the 5k was an official road record).

Hocker's 3:38.99 win in the 1500m was the highlight while Wesley Kiptoo (27:58.10) and Edwin Kurgat (27:58.33) went 1-2 in the 10,000m. BYU went 1-4 in the women's 1500m lead by Courtney Wayment (4:16.10). Colorado's Eduardo Herrera (13:24.46) beat out Conner Mantz (13:24.78) and Casey Clinger (13:24.89) in a tight 5000m. BYU's Whittni Orton (15:42.33) won the women's race.
