RIP:Running Legend, Three-Time Olympic Champion And Former World Record Holder Peter Snell Has Died At 80 Years Old Snell is the only man to win the 800m and 1,500m at the same Olympics in the last 99 years. In total, he had three Olympic golds and set world records at at 800 (1:44.3 on a grass track), 1k (2:16.6) and mile (3:54.1).
