2020 Changes: Zurich To Host Diamond League Final In 2020 And 2021 As Part Of Diamond League Reform The DL will move from two finals (Zurich and Brussels) to a one-final format. Which 12 meets will make up the rest of the series and which 24 events (12 men, 12 women) will be contested are decisions that will be made this fall.

In the mid-d action, Neil Gourley won a competitive 1,500m in 3:48.36 over Josh Kerr (3:48.51), Jake Wightman (3:48.69) and Charlie Grice (3:48.83) and Shelayna Oskan-Clarke ran 2:02.67 to just beat out Lynsey Sharp (2:02.79). Eilish McColgan dominated the 5,000m in 15:21 over Jessica Judd (15:35) and Jodie Williams took the women’s 200m in 23.06.

What A Race!Ojie Edoburn Shocks Rivals To Win British 100m Title In 10.18 Edoburun ran his time into a -1.9m/s headwind, beating favorites Adam Gemili and Zharnel Hughes who both were also clocked at 10.18. In distance action, Andrew Butchart won the 5,000m in 13:54.29.

Dina Asher-Smith Clocks Championship Record 10.96 To Win British 100m Title This after she ran 11.03 in the semis, running into a two meter per second headwind. Rosie Clarke won the steeplechase in 9:46.66.

In the women’s race, Sharon Lokedi, the 2018 NCAA 10,000 champ, was the surprise winner and American Sara Hall the even more surprising runner-up.

Mo Farah Is Focused On Defending His Title At The Chicago Marathon, But Isn’t Ruling Out Doing The 10,000m At Worlds Chicago is on October 13th and the Doha 10,000 is on October 6th. Farah gets an automatic entry as the defending champ and said, “Anything is possible. I’m a reigning champion. I get an automatic spot. There’s nothing I have to do. I just thought why not?”

Kenyan 10,000 Trials Are In The Books

Geoffrey Kamworor And Agnes Tirop Win 10,000m Titles At Kenyan Championships Kamworor ran 27:24.76 to just win over Rhonex Kipruto (27:26.34) and former world U20 champ Rodgers Kwemoi (27:26.92). The women’s race was even closer as the top three finished within 1.3 seconds of each other. Tirop ran 31:25.00 (fastest-ever 10,000m at altitude) to Hellen Obiri‘s 31:25.38 and Rosemarry Wanjiru‘s 31:26.22.
