“After running 20.23 in the morning heats I felt really easy. I then sent my mum a message to say, you should listen to the four o’clock news because I am going to run fast. The semi-final felt like I was in slow motion. Around the curve I said to myself don’t step on the line like in London (World Championships). Then at around 190m when I saw 18 seconds on the clock I knew I was on for something special. To record 19.69 was an even better feeling than running the 300m World U20 best.”

Jamaican Champs Highlight Weekend International Action *Results

Elaine Thompson Beats Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce To Win Jamaican 100m Title As Both Clock 10.73 Thompson got the win by three-thousandths of a second (10.726 to 10.729) in the first race in history in which two women broke 10.75. Briana Williams set a world U18 best of 10.94 for third. Yohan Blake won the men’s 100m in a SB of 9.96 while Kemar Mowatt (48.70) and Rushell Clayton (54.73) got upset victories in the 400H.
