Quote Of The Day
– Joanna Harper, writing in a Q&A with Ross Tucker on Sportsscientists.com. Harper, a medical physicist (and former guest letsrun.com columnist) who ran a 2:23 marathon as man and has won six age group national titles as a woman, believes that untreated hyperandrogenism and transgenderism threatens the very existence of women’s sports. And Harper, who “perhaps more than anyone on the planet, (lives) and breathe(s) gender and sports,” should know as within nine months of starting hormone replacement therapy she was running 12% slower than what she ran with male T levels.
