Where Your Dreams Become Reality

Quote of the Day:
"
Today I waited for the guys the first 400m, but I see they were going very slow, so I decided to control the pace"

-Patrick Makau on why he took the lead a quarter mile in and went out on near world record pace (4:22) at the Healthy Kidney 10k. Makau paid the toll for the early pace as he faded the second half and missed the $20,000 for the course record, but he still got the win.

Saturday's Action: Ali Abdosh, Dejen Gebremeskel Run 13:08 4 people finished the race and 3 guys broke 13:10. Pretty sick for a US distance race. They came up short of the 13:04 US All-Comers record but we hear it was windy. Abdosh just got the bronze at the African champs. Brandon Shaw won the 800. The main events are today.

*IAAF Preview of Meet
LRC: Preview of Action at 2008 adidas Track Classic The US pro circuit gets started with a fantastic meet this weekend in LA and we get you ready by breaking down the men's fields. The sprint action is really good as it includes Jeremy Wariner, Allyson Felix, Kerron Clement, Sany Richards and a Tyson Gay double at 100 and 200. But this is a distance oriented site and we get our preview started with an in-depth analysis of the unreal men's 1,500 that features the lion's share of the US based 1,500 runners including double world champ Bernard Lagat, Lopez Lomong, Kevin Sullivan, Nick Willis, Nick Symmonds, Nate Brannen, Chris Lukezic, Jon Rankin and others. Is Lomong for real? How do Rankin and Lukezic stack up? Will Lagat crush everyone or can Lomong or Willis hang with him? We'll find out Sunday. The women's action features a women's 3k with the return of Kara Goucher, and a wide-open women's 1500m with Shannon Rowbury.
There is a strong men's 3k that features Alberto Salazar's clan of runners, the Torres brothers, Ian Dobson and Collis Birmingham.
But get this, the meet organizers have added a men's 5k for 8 pm Saturday night where the US all-comers record of 13:04 might fall. That race will be followed by a recently added men's 800 (Khadvis Robinson is not running a previously stated) that hopefully be a 1:44 -45 race. Wanna know the best part about it? All of the bonus action on Saturday night is totally free so get out there and see the action. Then return the favor to the meet organizers and come back on Sunday.Who will come out on top? Read our preview and we'll tell you
