Natalie Willer named Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS- Natalie Willer has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after setting the American junior women's pole vault record Saturday at the 2009 Concordia Twilight meet in Seward, Neb.
 
A sophomore at Nebraska, Willer broke her own American junior record en route to winning the women's pole vault with a clearance of 4.38 meters/14 feet 4.5 inches. Her previous record of 4.36m/14-3.5 was set at this year's Drake Relays.

Now in its eighth year, USATF'sAthlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
