Deena Kastor to Run Boston
It is a strong women's field as she'll be up against defend champ Rita Jeptoo and two time NY champ Jelena Prokopcuka. And it'll be the only marathon you see live on tv this year if you live in America. *Deena Kastor Unveils New Website Check it out. Deena runs for Asics. So does Ryan Hall. Yet you all race in Nikes.
Good News: Weltklasse Meet Scraps Pace Makers We think this is a great thing. To many meets in Europe have become glorified time trials. The Weltklasse meet is regarded by some as the greatest one day meet in Europe, a one-day mini Olympics so the changes could have impact elsewhere. Other changes, include less events (but equal prize money per event), and 50% more prize money (and less appearance money which will upset the agent ranks). *Message board thread on this here plus threads from 2002 and 2006 on it.

Even more impressive is what the Meriwether has done off the track: from being the first black medical student at Duke, to providing medical care in apartheid S. Admits to Having Plant in Drug Testing Room The
biggest revelation to us is that Douglas admitted that Lewis' camp was
able to put people in the drug testing room with Johnson. Even if you
accept Douglas' reason for the plant (to make sure Douglas did not take

rival sprint camps perhaps sabotaging one another or ratting on one

Interview
"I think the question then becomes when, and at
what point are we, as
organizing bodies, USA Track and Field, IAAF, the other national
governing bodies from all over the world, going to really invest the
money that its necessary in testing to keep up and get ahead of, the
people who are using the system to cheat. And that will take money. It
takes money to develop the tests for the different variants of the
drugs that these people are coming up with, and only when you have that
kind of investment will you really stop it. Otherwise, they're just
faking it."
