Under 58:30 for the men and under 66:11 (women's only WR) for the women are the goal times. The field includes nine sub-60 minute men lead by Stephen Kiprop (58:42) and Kibiwott Kandie (58:58) and five sub-66 women lead by Joan Chelimo (65:04) and Peres Jepchirchir (65:06).

Two-time BAA 10k champ Stephen Sambu and Daniel Chebii face Geoffrey Koech (27:18), 58:42 half runner Stephen Kiprop, and Abdi Abdirahman. Aliphine Tuliamuk, former Boston champ Caroline Rotich, Betsy Saina and 30:06 woman Fancy Chemutai lead the women's race.

The 2019 RAK Half was spectacular as both races featured fast times and sprint finishes. The men's race included a European record by Julien Wander (59:13) and the most sub-60s in a single race in history (11)
