2017 Bislett Games Recap: Jake Wightman Pulls Off A Huge Upset, A 16-Year-Old Runs 3:56 and A Woman's Wig Comes Off Mid-Competition

Fans who watched the 2017 Bislett Games were entertained in a variety of ways on Thursday evening. On the track, two precocious Norwegian talents delighted the home crowd. Off the track, a women’s long jumper’s wig fell off during the event and a rabbit forgot to run the water jump in the women’s steeplechase and then took out the #1 seed from behind.

2015 IAAF Doha Preview: Mo Farah Doesn't Duck The Competition in A Stacked Men's 3,000; Asbel Kiprop, Mo Aman & Ayanleh Souleiman to Battle in 800; Abeba Aregawi and Sifan Hassan to Clash in 1500

Farah will face five men who have broken 7:31 including Hagos Gebrhiwet and Yenew Alamirew. The women's 1500 features '14 world leader Sifan Hassan and '13 world champ Abeba Aregawi, while Ethiopians Sofia Assefa and Hiwot Ayalew will race in the women's steeple. Justin Gatlin (100) and Allyson Felix (200) headline the non-distance action.

Zurich Full Recap: Hiwot Ayalew Wins DL Title in Women's Steeple; Seven Americans Win DL Titles

Tunisia's Habiba Ghribi beat Ayalew (2nd) and Emma Coburn (5th) in the race, but Ayalew still won the DL title and the $40,000 prize that goes with it. Americans to win DL titles included Jenny Simpson (1500), Tianna Bartoletta (LJ), Reese Hoffa (SP), Christian Taylor (TJ), Michael Tinsley (400 hurdles), LaShawn Merritt (400) and Dawn Harper-Nelson (100 hurdles).
