Dibaba and Keitany were 1-2 in LRC's 2015 World Rankings and they'll be joined by three others in the top seven, including defending champ Tigist Tufa, 2010 champ Aselefech Mergia and Chicago champ/HM WR holder Florence Kiplagat. Sara Hall will also compete in a race that holds major Olympic implications for Kenya, Ethiopia and GB.

Once again, London has secured an amazing field with five women who have run under 2:20 and eight under 2:21. All of the top 5 from our 2015 World Rankings are in the field including the winners of 2015 Dubai, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Worlds marathons.

Mary Keitany was back on top in NYC showing she's still one of the world's best.

Keitany has been running great since returning from her second pregnancy last year, but she'll have her hands full on Sunday. Aselefech Mergia (Dubai), Caroline Rotich (Boston) and Tigist Tufa (London) have all won major marathons this year, plus the field includes 2013 champ Priscah Jeptoo, two-time runner-up Buzunesh Deba and debutante Sally Kipyego. *MB: 2015 NYC Marathon Women's Race - Who you got in loaded womens' field led by Mary Ketiany?

Former champs Mary Keitany, Priscah Jeptoo and Edna Kiplagat and HM WR holder Florence Kiplagat take on Dubai champ Aselefech Mergia and 2014 World #1, Tirfi Tsegaye.

Half way into the race, Farah was dropped from the lead pack, but he hung tough and got the super-impressive win in 59:32 over Micah Kogo. Rose Chelimo won the women's race in 1:08:22.

Farah has said he's only going for the win, but the race is offering $100,000 for a world record and Zersenay Tadese set the current WR of 58:23 on this course in 2010. Kenya's Stephen Kibet (58:54 PR) and Ethiopia's Guye Adola (59:06 PR, bronze at '14 World Half Champs) could be tempted to push the pace with that sort of prize money.

2013 champ Priscah Jeptoo and world half marathon record holder Florence Kiplagat join Edna Kiplagat and Keitany to form what race organizers have dubbed "the Fantastic Four." NYC runner-up Jemima Sumgong and Berlin runner-up Feyse Tadesse should also contend as part of a field that includes six women who have broken 2:21. This will also be the final marathon for British legend Paula Radcliffe.

Molly Huddle got another big win to bring her prize money total to $128,000 in 2014, collegian Brian Shrader (born at 7,000 feet of altitude) turned heads by beating the pros at the .US 12k Champs, Priscah Jeptoo showed she's on her way back, and Duke did not show anything.

Jeptoo is healthy now, but lost too much training time. They will be replaced by 2013 Boston champ Lelisa Desisa and Chicago Marathon runner-up Jemima Sumgong.

Defending champ Priscah Jeptoo faces runner up Buzunesh Deba as well as Edna Kiplagat and Mary Keitany in her return to the marathon.

Mutai will be going for NYC title #3 - no one has won 3 since Alberto Salazar in 1982.

The ridiculously deep fields include 11 men who have gone under 60-minutes and 7-women who have ran under 68:00. Men's side includes Bernard Koech (58:41), Stanley Biwott (58:56), Chicago Marathon champ Dennis Kimetto, former Half-Marathon World champ Wilson Kiprop and  2011 10,000m World champ Ibrahim Jelian. On the women's side there is London/NYC Marathon champ Priscah Jeptoo, Boston champ Rita Jeptoo and former 10K World champ Linet Masai making her half debut.

The 2014 London field is totally stacked as Priscah Jeptoo,who was totally unbeatable in 2013, will clash with Tirunesh Dibaba, who is making the most anticipated women’s marathon debut in 10+ years (maybe ever?).
