Another top names announced include US marathon champs Brogan Austin and Emma Bates as well as Stephanie Bruce, Lindsay Flanagan, Chris Derrick, Diego Estrada and Parker Stinson.

Emma Bates ran the fastest time by an American ever in a 25k race.

Cragg ran 43:23 (5:25 pace) to win the "one-time test event" to win the women's race easily while Austin ran 38:07 (4:46 pace) to beat out Jared Ward (38:17) and Parker Stinson (38:25). Both winners commented on how tough and hilly the course was.

Stinson and Ritzenhein have a relationship that stretches back a decade. They try not to worry about the fact that, should all go well, they'll be racing each other for an Olympic berth next year.

Sara Hall completed a nice double, Tim Ritchie kept the Saucony team rolling, Parker Stinson went for it, a 50-year-old made the Trials, and a history lesson on Jerry Lawson.

Stinson's fall racing plan includes the US 20K Champs, US 10 Mile Chams and RNR Philly Half-Marathon.

The futures of American seniors Eric Jenkins and Emily Sisson look very bright as they both got their first NCAA titles in the 5,000m.

Neither Jenkins (7:44/13:18) nor Sisson (15:12 CR) has won an NCAA individual title, but that is likely to change on Friday night in Fayetteville.

Edward Cheserek has never lost at an NCAA championship, but if the frosh phenom wants two more NCAA titles, he will have to take down two titans in Kennedy Kithuka and the fastest man in NCAA history, Lawi Lalang.

Lawi Lalang's attempt at the 5K, mile, 3K triple is over almost before it started as Edward Cheserek got a shocking and dominant upset victory in the men's 5,000. In an honestly-paced race, Cheserek blew away Lalang in the final 300m, winning in 13:46.67 to Lalang's 13:52.83.
