World Record Alert: WR Holders Yalemzerf Yehualaw & Letesenbet Gidey To Battle in Sunday's Valencia Half Marathon

If this race doesn't get you fired up as a running fan, it's hard to imagine what else would. The half marathon WR holder (Yalemzerf Yehualaw) is racing the 5,000/10,000 WR holder (Letesenbet Gidey) on Sunday in Valencia. Rhonex Kipruto (57:49 pb), 5k world champ Muktar Edris, and Kenyan XC champ Rodgers Kwemoi headline the men's race which saw four men break the WR last year. *MB: Set your alarm clocks now (2:30 am ET Sunday). The women are going for the WR in Valencia. Will we see a 62 minute half?

World Half Bronze Medalists Rock Delhi Half Marathon With Event Record Wins

21-year old Ethiopians Yalemzerf Yehualaw (64:46) and Amedework Walelegn (59:52) both picked up $37,000 wins in event record time today at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon as Yehualaw ran the second-fastest record-eligible half in history. Men's 5000: Mo Farah Completes The "Double Double"; American Paul Chelimo Surprises With Silver After A Slew Of DQs And Reinstatements Temporarily Cause Silver And Bronze Medal Pandemonium

Farah cemented his place in Olympic history by joining Lasse Viren as the only man in history to pull off the 5K/10K double at two Olympic Games. Behind him, three DQs saw 41-year-old Bernard Lagat almost win Olympic bronze, but two reinstatements later he was relegated to 5th as USA's Paul Chelimo was the shock silver medalist and Ethiopia's Hagos Gebrhiwet got the bronze.
