Ezekiel Kemboi Cements Status As Greatest of All-Time; Evan Jager's Medal Hopes Come Up Short

There were doubts surrounding Kemboi's fitness this year, but once Worlds came around, he did what he always does, blowing away the field over the final 200 to win in 8:11.28. Conseslus Kipruto managed second despite tearing his shoe on the final water jump, while Brimin Kipruto (3rd) and Jairus Birech (4th) helped produced an unprecedented 1-4 sweep for Kenya. Dan Huling (5th) was the top American as Evan Jager (6th) and Donn Cabral (10th) struggled.

Nike Oregon Project's Cam Levins had an off day and the rival Bowerman Track Club's Lopez Lomong and Ryan Hill were glad to pick up the slack going 1-2 in the men's 5000m. German Fernandez DNFd as he was having a terrible day and going to get lapped.

2014 LRC Year-End Rankings: Men's 3000 Steeplechase: Jairus Birech Is World #1, Evan Jager World #3

Jairus Birech reigned supreme this year, winning six of the seven DL events to go with a gold medal at the African Championships. Evan Jager was the clear U.S. #1 and enjoyed a PR (and American record) 8:04.71 in Brussels in September. Canadian Matt Hughes sneaks into the top 10 as well.

Monaco DL Preview: Oh Baby What A Meet - Evan Jager goes for the AR in men's steeple, the American women take on the world's best at 800 & 5000, and a high jump for the ages

This year's meet should be titled "The Greatest 3 Hours in Track & Field." In addition to a dream 800 and a world record attempt in the 1500, Evan Jager seems poised to take down the AR in the men's steeple. Might there also be an AR in the women's 5000 where Americans Molly Huddle, Shannon Rowbury, Kim Conley and Jordan Hasay will take on Genzebe Dibaba. The women's 800 is loaded as Ajee Wilson, Laura Roesler and Molly Beckwith-Ludlow battle Eunice Sum. There's also Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin against Panama's Alonso Edward in the 200 and a high jump featuring five of the top 12 jumpers of all time.  *IAAF Preview

Evan Jager Holds off Training Partner Dan Huling to Win Third Straight Steeple Title

Jager has run the steeple three times at USAs and has come away victorious each time. He had to work hard to do it though, as Huling was right with Jager for most of the last lap.
