A look back at Wheating's career.

Some of the events at the 2017 Pre Classic are without a doubt better than the 2017 Rio Olympic finals. We're so excited we even preview the men's pole vault and women's 200 but we also will see a loaded women's 1500 with Faith Kipyegon, Laura Muir and Jenny Simpson and possibly the youngest sub-4 mile in history.

Clayton Murphy and Ajee Wilson showed why their futures are very bright as they won some compelling races at the final day of 2017 USATF Indoors.

The men's 1k is loaded as it included Murphy, Andrews, Wheating and Kidder.

Andrew Wheating won the 1000 in 2:20.72 and there was a world lead in the women's mile from Shelby Houlihan in 4:24.16 over Colleen Quigley (4:24.88).

Distance highlights included Justyn Knight taking down Andrew Wheating and Brannon Kidder in the mile with a 3:59.54, Brie Felnagle running 4:27.27 to beat out Alexa Efraimson (4:30.49), a 2:02.29 win for Kate Grace in the 800 over Justine Fredronic, Colby Gilbert getting a 7:45.71 win in the 3000, and Andrea Seccafien winning the 3000 in 9:11.39 over Christina Aragon (9:12.58).  

The ‘Heat of Death’ didn't produce a travesty - no the travesty was produced by the officials  who have stupidly put 13 runners into the final even though there were no DQs in either heat. #IDIOTIC *MB: Guess what? They've done it again. Officials needlessly put 13 people into men's 1500 final without a DQ!!

Galen Rupp lost in the 5000, beaten by Justyn Knight and Woody Kincaid. Centrowitz crushed everyone in the 1500 as Andrew Wheating ran 3:40, Edward Cheserek 3:41 and Mary Cain 4:13. Becky Wade didn't get the USA qualifier in the steeple. *MB: CENTRO IS BACK!!! *MB: RUPP GOES HOME DEVASTATED - Loses 5k to some guy named Woody Kincaid 

Wednesday marks three weeks to go until the Olympic Trials. With that in mind, it’s time for the LRC crew to start looking ahead. Who looks good? Who needs a lot of help? Who might surprise? Dare we say who will make the team?

Meseret Defar is back and US-based stars Andrew Wheating (1k), Boris Berian (600) and Nick Willis got wins as Dawit Seyaum outkicked Brenda Martinez.

The 3000 has Matthew Centrowitz, Lawi Lalang, Stephen Sambu Cam Levins Trevor Dunbar, Pat Casey and Hassan Mead. Eric Jenkins vs Ben Blankenship in the 1500, Andrew Wheating in the 800, and Shannon Rowbury, Treniere Moser and Geena Gall in the women's 800. *Allyson Felix Vs Jenna Prandini And English Gardner In The 60m

Andrew Wheating won the 1500 in 3:39.17 to beat David Torrence by .34-seconds. Canada's Nicole Sifuentes won the women's race in 4:06.44 as the Americans were way back and Maggie Vessey took the 800 in 2:00.30 over Melissa Bishop (2:00.43).

*Veronica Campbell-Brown Won The 100-200 Double ( 11.22 & 22.82) Other top sprint action included LaShawn Merritt in the 300 (31.53), Queen Harrison in the 100H (12.84), Steven Gardiner winning the 400 in 45.11 over a field that had Ashton Eaton, Jeremy Wariner, Deon Lendore and Mike Berry.

This week we look back at Pan Ams, tell you it's okay to eat ice cream (at least in high school), get caught up on a Polish 800m rivalry, talk about video games and much more.

Track events start on Tuesday and there will be some star power in the 100/200 with hometown phenom Andre De Grasse. The men's 5,000 (Cam Levins, Garrett Heath, David Torrence, Juan Luis Barrios) figures to be exciting, as does the women's 800, which features three sub-1:58 women, led by Alysia Montaño. Plus Andrew Wheating, Kyle Merber and Nate Brannen in the 1500, PPP in the TJ & David Oliver in the 110 hurdles.

What a race. Matt Centrowitz destroyed everyone with the largest margin of victory since 2004, Robby Andrews had an incredible kick, and Leo Manzano had his 10th straight top 3 finish.
