If you're the type of runner who wants to know exactly how far or how fast you're running the Timex Speed and Distance GPS is for you. This system has tons of features including the basics on most Timex watches like a stopwatch (100 lap memory), countdown timer, indiglo night light, and alarms. But this system takes it to the next level by being able to calculate your current speed and pace by connecting to GPS satellites in the sky. The Timex Speed and Distance watch can tell you your maximum, average or current speed and pace and you can also program preset speed alarms so the watch will notify you when you are above or below your target pace. The GPS unit also synchronizes with the satellites' clocks so you never have to program the time on the watch. Unlike the Nike or Fitsense speed watches that try and measure your speed, the Timex GPS requires no calibration.
The watch has gotten good reviews. Slowtwitch.com says "For running, the S+D system is great and offers invaluable feedback for data junkies."
