Steven Gardiner Runs 19.75 National Record, Michael Norman Blasts 20.06 (Video)

Two of the world’s best 400m men ran very impressive 200s today.
First up at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Florida, Steven Gardiner, the world 400m silver medallist from the Bahamas, ran 19.75. Pending verification, Gardiner’s time was a huge PB and a huge national record (previous record was Michael Mathieu‘s 20.16). Gardiner’s previous PB was the 20.20 he ran at the Florida Relays a little over a week ago.

Then in Arizona at the Sun Angel Classic, Michael Norman, the pending indoor 400m world record holder from USC, ran 20.06 into a 1.4 headwind to absolutely crush the field. (His run equates to a 19.99 without the headwind). Norman’s previous best was the 20.14 he ran at the 2016 US Olympic Trials as a high schooler.
