At the St. Louis Festival of Miles tonight, Texas high schooler Reed Brown blitzed a 57 second flat last lap to run 3:59.30 and become the 10th US high schooler to break 4:00. At 900 meters, Brown moved up into second and stayed in the top 4 for the rest of the way. He hit 409 in 61.6 , 809 in 2:02.6, 1209 in about 3:02.3 but had enough in the last 400 to get the job done. The race was dominated by Morgan McDonald of Wisconsin/Australia who won in 3:57.52.
