The race day routine. Every runner has got one and they’re all different. Maybe we all could learn a thing from observing the pros.
Two-time USA 5,000m Olympian Kim Conley gave a nice peak into her race day routine on the new LetsRun.com Instagram account yesterday.
For those of you not on Instagram, we’ve compiled a short video of some of what Kim shared.
Kim coming off a 31:35 10,000m PR at Stanford, was running the 1,500m at the USATF Distance Classic, tuning up for the 5,000m next Friday at the Pre Classic where Genzebe Dibaba will be going for a world record. She ran 4:11 for 9th in the fast section last night. The last time Kim set a 10,000m PR was in 2014, when she ran her 15:08 5,000m PR.
Thanks to Kim for sharing. If she breaks the 15:00 barrier next week at Pre, the LetsRun.com curse is officially over!
Kim, who runs for New Balance, is part of the NorCal Distance Project. You can follow her on instagram or check our her website. We just got word that from the Sacramento Running Association that Kim will headline next week’s Sacramento Running Association Kids Assembly and Field Day at John Cabrillo Elementary School on Tuesday.
